SINGAPORE: Raffles Girls' Primary School has won the Ministry of Education's School Excellence Award (SEA), making it the first primary school to do so.

The SEA is a top award that recognises schools that have consistently stood out in a wide range of student development processes, both academic and non-academic.

Joining Raffles Girls in receiving the SEA for 2008, are National Junior College and Temasek Junior College.

Other awards will also be presented by Education Minister Ng Eng Hen, at the MOE Workplan Seminar on Thursday, to a total of 246 schools.

These are schools that have done well in areas such as sports and uniformed groups, national education programmes, and initiatives to promote staff well-being.
