SINGAPORE : The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) has detected melamine in two additional products imported from China.
In a statement on Tuesday, AVA said both products contain milk as an ingredient.
The products are New Sshma Ows Mallow Dippers - Strawberry Flavour; and Silang - House of Steamed Potato - Potato & Tomato Cracker.
This brings the total number of affected products to 10. AVA said all importers will be required to destroy the tainted products under AVA's supervision.
With the amount of melamine detected in the two latest products, the AVA said a 60 kg adult would be able to tolerate eating 101 cups of New Sshma Ows Mallow Dippers-Strawberry Flavour every day, or 20 packs of Silang - House of Steamed Potato - Potato & Tomato Cracker.
The AVA has suspended the import and sale of all milk and milk products from China since September 19. Anyone who finds such products still on sale should inform AVA immediately.
The other products that were earlier found to be contaminated with melamine are Yi Li Choice Dairy Fruit Bar Yogurt Flavoured Ice Confection; Dutch Lady Strawberry Flavoured Milk; White Rabbit Creamy Candy; Dutch Lady Banana Flavoured Milk; Dutch Lady Honeydew Flavoured Milk; Silang - House of Steamed Potato - Potato Cracker; Puffed Rice Rolls - Butter Corn Flavour; and Puffed Rice Rolls - Cheese Flavour. - CNA/ms
