SINGAPORE: The Health Promotion Board (HPB) is launching this year's national healthy lifestyle campaign with a new focus – engaging youths aged between 12 and 23 through physical sports, dance and music.
The theme for this year's campaign is "Breathe", and HPB wants youths to cultivate healthy habits through an active lifestyle.
Dr Wong Mun Loke, deputy director, Youth Health Division, HPB said: "Many health habits are essentially developed or nurtured from a young age and these habits usually persist later on into adulthood."
The campaign will be launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on November 7 at the Padang, where more than 10,000 youths are expected to take part in some unusual games such as Human Bowling, Human Table Soccer and remote control speed racing.
The launch event will also feature a new dance fitness routine and a hip-hop competition.
HPB will also launch a website to engage youths on various health issues and to provide them with information on events and activities.
