Singapore Slingers clinch women's international polo championship

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Slingers defeated Elevation Polo 5-2 in the Shanghai Tang Women's International Polo tournament on Sunday.

And for the first time, global television networks provided coverage for the event at the Singapore Polo Club.

Five teams were in action for the second consecutive tournament.

Three were local teams, bolstered with six foreign professionals from Zimbabwe, US, Australia and New Zealand.

Two visiting teams - Thai Polo and Elevation Polo - completed the line-up for the competition.

Each member from the winning team walked away with prizes worth $1,500. - CNA/de
