SINGAPORE: The Singapore Zoo is keeping its white tiger exhibit closed for a few more days to monitor the tigers' stress levels.

Two white tigers were involved in last Thursday's incident where a cleaner was mauled to death after he jumped into the enclosure.

During the incident, zookeepers and onlookers threw umbrellas and even used a long pole to distract the tigers.

The zoo said the two female tigers, reportedly stressed by the incident, are "doing fine".

The keepers are also going about their daily routine of feeding and cleaning the tigers.

Since the tragedy, the zoo has increased patrols around various exhibits, but said its security measures are effective and will not be changed for now.

The number of visitors to the zoo increased over the weekend, owing to the start of Singapore's school holidays.
