SINGAPORE : Three Singaporeans have pleaded guilty to bribing a lucky draw organiser into picking them as winners.

Simon Neo Teng Teck, Alfred Lee Chee Khaw and Steven Tan Chye Leng were fined S$5,000 each in the Subordinate Courts on Thursday.

Investigations revealed that the three had, between October and November 2007, given draw organiser Teh Gim Leng sums ranging from S$1,400 to S$2,500 in cash or in fuel vouchers, so that he would pick them to win free fuel for a year.

A total of 12 people were found to have influenced Teh in the lucky draw. Six of them have already been sentenced in recent weeks. The remaining three are claiming trial and their cases have been scheduled for pre-trial conferences in December.

Teh, who accepted the bribes, was sentenced to three months' jail and fined S$5,900 in July. - CNA /ls
