SINGAPORE : The South West Community Development Council (CDC) is stepping up efforts to provide employment assistance.
In a statement released on Thursday, it announced that it will conduct at least six recruitment exercises a month next year. This is double the number it currently conducts monthly.
The recruitment fairs aim to bring job opportunities to residents in the heartlands.
The CDC said the increased frequency is in response to the recession and growing demand for jobs.
Over the last three months, it has seen the number of residents applying for job assistance rise by 29 per cent compared to the same period last year. - CNA /ls
