SINGAPORE: Singapore's Parliament will sit on January 22 for the 2009 Budget Speech. This was announced by Singapore's Finance Ministry on Friday.

Thereafter, Parliament will sit to debate the budget from February 3.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recently announced that the date for next year's budget would be brought forward from February to January.

With this change of date, the Finance Ministry said the closing date for the budget feedback exercise will be brought forward to the December 31, 2008.
