SINGAPORE : Singapore and China have inked an agreement on aviation security cooperation.

The memorandum of understanding, signed in Singapore on Friday, formalises bilateral cooperation in areas such as aviation security policy, procedures, technology, operations and training.

According to a statement from Singapore's Transport Ministry, such cooperation could include training opportunities and testing of new aviation security equipment to improve security screening measures while upholding passenger facilitation and efficiency.

Regular dialogues, joint seminars, forums and conferences could also be organised to increase exchange of information and sharing of best practices in civil aviation security. - CNA /ls
