SINGAPORE: More elderly are attending infocomm courses and two new centres have opened in Marine Parade and Bukit Panjang to cater to their needs.

The centres are at the Marine Parade Family Service Centre and the Chinese Development Assistance Council Multi-Service Centre in Bukit Panjang.

For S$2 to S$6 an hour, senior citizens are taught how to surf the net, upload photos, play computer games, and e-mail.

Over 4,000 attended courses at the first Infocomm Learning Centre, which opened in Bishan last November.

Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority plans to set up eight such centres by 2010. - CNA/vm
