SINGAPORE : Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region in Russia, Valery Shantsev, has called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana on Friday afternoon.
Governor Shantsev, who is on a study visit to Singapore, updated SM Goh on the economic opportunities in the Nizhny Novgorod region and invited Singapore companies to consider investing there.
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office added that the senior minister and Governor Shantsev also discussed possible ways for the two sides to further strengthen relations. - CNA /ls
