SINGAPORE: The design sector is getting a boost from the Singapore government.

DesignSingapore, the national agency which promotes Singapore design, has earmarked S$10 million over the next two years to help designers, practitioners and industry associations.

Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts Lee Boon Yang announced this at the President's Design Awards ceremony Monday evening.

Under the "Design Capability Development Programme", designers can make use of the grants and co-funding to upgrade themselves, gain work experience and achieve greater international exposure.
