SINGAPORE: Pounding African drumbeats reverberated through one of Singapore seaside malls on Sunday as shoppers were treated to the sounds of the Djembe.

Twenty performers showed off their skills at Singapore's largest mall Vivocity.

The show was part of their year-end performance comprising a medley of songs.

Some 120 students in Singapore have taken up the instrument and the group is hoping to drum up more interest in African culture. - CNA/vm
