SINGAPORE: Singapore and Vietnam held an inaugural Defence Policy Dialogue on Monday.

Leaders from both countries exchanged views on regional security issues and areas of defence cooperation.

The dialogue is a forum to advance bilateral defence relations between the two countries.

It was co-chaired by Singapore's Defence Permanent Secretary Chiang Chie Foo and Vietnamese Vice-Minister of National Defence Colonel-General Nguyen Huy Hieu who is in Singapore on a four-day visit.

Colonel-General Hieu also called on Singapore's Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean and visited the 2nd People's Defence Force and the Army Museum.
