SINGAPORE : Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy believed to be involved in a series of burglaries in Sembawang.

The teenager is alleged to have stolen about S$10,000 worth of cash and valuables in at least six separate cases.

Officers said the offences were reportedly committed between October and December this year, at Blocks 309 and 310 in Canberra Road.

They added that the teen burglar would usually target units with unsecured window panels, then reach in to fish out items placed near the window.

He was eventually arrested at Blk 310 Canberra Road on Monday morning.

Officers also recovered about S$1,500 worth of stolen cash and valuables.

The boy will be charged in the Juvenile Court on 30 December 2008. - CNA/ms
