SINGAPORE: Singapore's new women's table tennis coach started his first day of work on Tuesday.

Zhou Shu Sen, who is from China, has inked a four-year contract and already has ambitious plans for the women's team, which won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics last year.

He hopes to better that achievement, aiming to win two medals at the 2012 Olympics in London.

The Singapore Table Tennis Association started looking for a new coach in August last year soon after the Beijing Olympics ended.

It is confident that Mr Zhou's appointment will help the team achieve greater glory for Singapore. - CNA/vm
