SINGAPORE: Friends and family of cancer victim Shin Na, who donated her body for research, gathered for her memorial service at the Asian Civilisations Museum on Saturday.
Shin Na died on Tuesday.
The Korean-American television journalist's cancer fight gained public interest when she decided to blog about her experiences to spread awareness about the disease.
This gained ground when she decided to donate her whole body for medical research. Less than 10 people do so each year.
The Pink Paddlers, a dragonboat team of breast cancer survivors, began the memorial service with a song.
Shin Na's husband then led a string of eulogies at the touching memorial service, which was specially put together by friends and family.
Some younger ones were too overwhelmed by emotion to finish their pieces.
Shin Na also leaves behind a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
