Singapore Budget 2009

SINGAPORE : Singapore's Finance Ministry plans to introduce a public sector annual report in 2010.

This will track how various agencies work towards their strategic goals and should help to better synergise their operations.

This was announced by Senior Minister of State Lim Hwee Hua in Parliament on Tuesday.

Mrs Lim said the Singapore Public Sector Report (SPAR) will be useful in identifying trends and issues that need focus or resolution.

In addition, the government will continue to leverage on technology to enhance access to government e-services and improve public service delivery.

The Ministry of Finance said an annual customer satisfaction survey showed that 9-in-10 respondents were satisfied with the overall level of e-services.

It added that integration within the government has also resulted in a forecast savings of S$21 million for 16 projects during Financial Year 2006-2007. - CNA/ms
