SINGAPORE: Singapore's Foreign Ministry has said it is "deeply concerned" over the North Korean rocket launch.

Responding to media queries, its spokesman said Singapore regrets that North Korea has seen fit to take this step.

Singapore hopes all parties involved will exercise restraint and reduce tensions through dialogue and the six-party talks, and stressed that a Korean Peninsula that is stable and nuclear-free is crucial for regional security and development.
