Flu Outbreak

SINGAPORE : People who have been to Mexico over the past seven days must be quarantined when they enter Singapore. A home quarantine order, which takes effect on Monday, will require them to be quarantined for seven days.

This comes amid the Influenza A (H1N1) flu virus, which is spreading around the world.

For non-residents, they will stay at the Aloha resort in Loyang, which was closed to holiday makers on Friday.

Channel NewsAsia understands from a MediaCorp hotline caller that his booking for Saturday has been cancelled.

Others staying at the chalets were also asked to leave.

Government chalets at Loyang were used as alternative quarantine facilities during the SARS crisis in 2003. - CNA/ms
