SINGAPORE: The government is stepping up its efforts to recruit capable, committed individuals into the Civil Service.
These plans were released by the Public Sector Division on Thursday in the Prime Minister's Office's addendum to the President's Address delivered in Parliament earlier this week.
As part of efforts to address Singapore's aging society and the resulting changes in the manpower landscape, the government said it will stay committed to enacting re-employment legislation.
It will also take the lead by introducing its re-employment policy ahead of national legislation.
At the same time, the government will continue working with Quality Service Managers to improve the implementation of the 'No Wrong Door' policy.
It is also working with the Civil Service College to improve training for public officers. The aim is to help them develop greater empathy for issues faced by the public.
At the same time, the Public Service will also be recognising members of the public who are "role model customers" as part of plans to improve service quality and standards. - CNA/vm
