SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, along with other ASEAN leaders, is in South Korea for a two-day summit with President Lee Myung Bak.
The summit in Jeju marks 20 years of ties between ASEAN and South Korea.
In his speech at the summit on Monday, PM Lee emphasised ASEAN's support for a de-nuclearised Korean peninsula and its condemnation of the North's nuclear test and missile launches.
He also highlighted the importance of the move to explore an Open Skies Agreement.
ASEAN is South Korea's third largest trading partner and second largest destination for foreign investment.
Mr Lee will be in South Korea till Thursday. Besides attending the summit, he will also meet the South Korean prime minister, finance minister, as well as major business leaders.
After South Korea, Mr Lee will visit China's Hangzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai, where he will officially set the ball rolling for work on the Singapore Pavilion at the World Expo.
