SINGAPORE: Hosts Singapore suffered their second loss in the Asian Youth Games (AYG) football competition on Monday evening. They lost 1-4 to Thailand.

Singapore were defeated by Iran 1-2 in their opening match on Saturday.

As hosts, Singapore had the advantage of not playing in the preliminaries.

The Thais were on the offensive from the start, taking a comfortable two-goal lead before the break. They added to their tally in the second half.

While Singapore managed to score a goal, it was too little, too late. The Thais went on to score another goal for a convincing 4-1 victory.

Singapore's final Group A tie is against China on Wednesday.

In the other Group A match, Iran beat China 4-2 to become the first team to book a semi-final berth.
