SINGAPORE: This year's Singapore Sun Festival will see a number of firsts.

It will kick off with a world premiere ballet collaboration between Russian groups, the renowned Bolshoi Theatre and Mariinsky Theatre, which will be sharing the stage together for the first time.

Another first will be the indoor screening of films curated by actress-director Joan Chen. She will also host the festival's new programming element – an on-stage interview with film reviewer and screenwriter Ben Slater.

Furthermore, the festival will see first-time celebrity appearances by Nobel Laureate for Literature, Wole Soyinka, and singer-songwriter Elvis Costello.

The Singapore Sun Festival will run from October 3 to 12.
