SINGAPORE: Chew Mei Fun, national chairman of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) women's wing, Wanita, has led 35 female political activists on a two-day study trip to Singapore.

On Friday morning, the delegation held a dialogue session with the chairman of Singapore's People's Action Party (PAP) Women's Wing, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Hwee Hua and other female MPs and activists.

The two groups exchanged ideas on how to encourage women to be politically active.

Together with Wanita MCA office bearers, Ms Chew also called on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana.

Ms Chew is the incumbent deputy minister of Women, Family and Community Development and has been the national chairman for Wanita MCA since 2008.

On Thursday, the delegation toured the Serangoon Community Club to understand activities and services offered to residents.
