SINGAPORE: The Singapore and Indonesian navies are conducting their annual mine-countermeasure exercise, code-named Joint MINEX.
It started on June 29 and will be on till next Tuesday.
Taking part from Singapore are two mine-countermeasure vessels, RSS Kallang and RSS Punggol, while one mine-countermeasure vessel and a minesweeper are involved from the Indonesian navy.
Singapore's Defence Ministry says as part of the exercise, the two navies will conduct joint operations against simulated mine threats off the eastern coast of Bintan, Indonesia, and in the Singapore Strait.
This year's exercise is the 12th in the series.
