SINGAPORE : Singapore's Land Transport Authority (LTA) will expand two of its latest initiatives to promote road safety.

The Traffic Calming Marking (TrCM) system, which consists of white triangular markings painted on the road, creates a visually narrower lane that encourages motorists to lower their speed.

Come end-August, the markings will also be put in place at Ghim Moh Road, Whitley Road, Lentor Road, Upper East Coast Road, the BKE Bukit Panjang exit and Woodlands Avenue 6.

Another measure that will be expanded is the "Your Speed Sign" system, which displays the speed at which motorists are travelling at, and alerts them if they are over the speed limit.

These can currently be found at the PIE Bedok North Exit, SLE Yishun Exit 3 and PIE Tampines Avenue 5 entry.

It will also be featured at the Clementi Avenue 6 exit on the PIE by December this year. - CNA /ls
