SINGAPORE : A fire broke out in a bedroom of an HDB flat on the ninth floor of Bedok North Block 519 earlier on Monday.

A caller to the Channel NewsAsia news hotline said the fire broke out at about 6pm and lasted for about two hours.

He also said it caused the aircon units of flats on the 10th floor to be burnt.

The SCDF was notified of the fire at 7:15pm and put it under control in 30 minutes.

Police also conducted an evacuation of residents living on the 10th to 12th floors. They were evacuated in seven minutes.
