SINGAPORE: Home United smashed DPMM FC's unbeaten record in Brunei in sensational fashion, registering a 6-1 victory at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium on Sunday evening.

Valery Hiek opened the scoring in the 39th minute for the visitors, a moment that prompted a heated response by the DPMM side that saw Sallehuddin Damit, Rene Komar and Yusof Salleh collecting red cards.

The floodgates opened in the second half as Kengne Ludovick bagged a hat-trick, before substitute Peres de Oliveira also joined in the scoring to put the Protectors 5-0 up with 12 minutes left.

Ivan Jerkovic got on the scoresheet for DPMM with a penalty on 81 minutes, but Fadzuhasny Juraimi restored the five-goal cushion in injury time to hand the Wasps their worst defeat in Singapore football.

In another match held at Tampines Stadium, defending champions SAFFC strengthened their position at the top of the S.League table with a 2-1 victory over nearest challengers Tampines Rovers. - S.League.com
