JAKARTA: Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to announce his 34-member team on Wednesday, after he is sworn in on Tuesday for a second term.
Two-thirds of the cabinet are expected to be new faces. President Yudhoyono is expected to retain his finance and trade ministers in the new cabinet.
The candidates underwent stringent medical check-ups and were personally interviewed by the President and his Vice President-elect over the weekend.
Among the candidates were Sri Mulyani, who is expected to retain her Finance portfolio, and Mari Pangestu, who is also likely to stay on as Trade Minister.
However, there is a strong indication that President Yudhoyono may appoint a new Foreign Minister to replace Hassan Wirajuda.
Marty Natalegawa, Indonesia's permanent representative to the UN, is tipped to be the country's top diplomat.
Current Energy and Mining Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro is expected to be appointed as Indonesia's new Defence Minister.
