JAKARTA : Indonesia is still gathering evidence to determine if an underground train station along Singapore's busy Orchard Road was a potential target for a terror attack.

The Head of Indonesia's Counter Terrorism Unit said his team has to make more arrests before it can arrive at a conclusion.

Maps showing Orchard MRT station were found last month in the house of suspected terrorist, Ahmad Said Maulana. He was killed in a police ambush in East Jakarta.

Tito Karnavian, head of Indonesia's Counter-Terrorism Unit, said: "We've got two maps over there - number one the MRT, number 2 is the zoomed in (map) of the area nearby - in the vicinity of Orchard Road. We have 2 maps in the bag of Maulana.

"But apart from that, we also got some foreign currencies including US dollars, ringgit Malaysia and peso Philippines. We haven't got any further information - confirmed - on the possible attacks in Singapore.

"This is the early stage. We've got this information. Of course, we need to arrest probably some other persons in the inner circle of Maulana such as Abdullah Sonata and some others to elaborate what actually the maps mean ..."

Addressing the Jakarta Foreign Correspondents' Club, General Tito said he expects more arrests to be made soon.

13 suspected terrorists were killed and 61 others have been detained since February when police discovered the group's training ground in Aceh.
