SINGAPORE: Singapore and the Netherlands on Tuesday signed an agreement to enhance their cooperation in the exchange of information for tax matters.
Both sides signed a protocol that amends the current agreement for the avoidance of double taxation.
Singapore's Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam and the Dutch State Secretary for Finance Jan Kees de Jager signed the agreement at The Hague.
Both countries affirmed their commitment to elevate the level of bilateral cooperation and agreed to re-negotiate the avoidance of double taxation agreement in future.
This is the fifth agreement that Singapore has signed to incorporate the internationally agreed standard for the exchange of information upon request for tax purposes.
