SINGPAORE: Security and traffic measures have been stepped up at and around the vicinity of the APEC meetings.
Those that Channel NewsAsia's news team spoke to on Monday - the first working day since the start of meetings - said the measures have not caused any inconvenience so far.
"There is a smooth flow of traffic as of now, it is quite organised here," a passerby said.
"Normally I drive everyday to work, but I was aware because of the event, so starting from today I am taking public transport," another passerby explained.
"At this time, I think there is no difference. Maybe tomorrow (Tuesday), (the traffic flow) will be affected," a taxi driver said.
Road and lane closures are due to kick in on Tuesday.
Temasek Boulevard towards Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth will be closed from midnight till 7pm on Sunday.
Left lane closures are also expected at Nicoll Highway and Raffles Boulevard during the same period.
Motorists are advised to plan for a longer time for their journeys.
