SINGAPORE : Starting January, mainboard-listed SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) will restore salaries of staff, following wage cuts that had been implemented earlier this year.

It will also discontinue its no-pay leave policy.

In June, SIAEC had implemented a wage cut of between 10 and 20 per cent for all of its management staff, as its business was hit by uncertainties in global economic conditions and the impact of the H1N1 situation.

This was followed by the implementation of no-pay leave for all staff.

Although the policies will be rolled back, the firm said it will continue to manage manning levels and costs. - CNA/ms
