SINGAPORE: Residents in some 800,000 HDB households will soon receive a letter informing them how much they will save on their utility bills.
The eligible households will receive S$210 million worth of Service and Conservancy Charges (S&CC), Rental and Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates.
This is part of the GST Offset Package which was announced in this year's Budget Statement.
Smaller flats will get waivers for a longer period.
For example, one-room units will get S&CC rebates and Rental rebates for four months starting in June.
They will also get S$220 worth of U-Save rebates.
The Finance Ministry said these rebates would cost the government S$800 million over five years.
