SINGAPORE : Singapore's athletes returning home with their medals were greeted with rousing cheers by family and friends at the Changi Airport.

The latest batch to return were the athletics team, wushu, squash and the gymnastics squad.

Among the gymnasts were the Tay twins who won 2 gold medals in the same event, after achieving identical scores in the Women's All-Around event.

"It felt really sweet because I've never had a joint gold with my sister before," said Tabitha Tay, a triple SEA Games gold medalist.

"The entire team is aiming for the next Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. Of course the next SEA Games, we will be training harder, hoping to bring back more (medals)," said Nicole Tay, a double SEA Games gold medalist. - CNA /ls
