The Thai winner began his charge on Tuesday with a six-under-par second round 66, after going round in a par 72 on the first day.
K. Aphibarmrat also had a strong second round with a score of 67 but started the final day one stroke adrift and failed in his bid to come out on top.
Thailand also took top spot in the men's team competition, beating the Philippines into second place by 20 strokes. Indonesia finished third.
Team scores were calculated by adding up the best three scores from the four players representing each nation per round.
