SINGAPORE: Singapore has formed three new National Sports Associations (NSAs) as part of preparations for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
The NSAs are for handball, wrestling and modern pentathlon.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Community Development, Youth and Sports Teo Ser Luck said this on the sidelines of celebrations for Singapore's table tennis team's Beijing Olympic silver medallists on Saturday.
He said: "The fraternity has already appointed the three new (NSA) presidents and they are already working. Some of them have already contacted the international federations....I hope to encourage them to at least organise one international competition together with their international federations in Singapore as a test event."
Mr Teo said one objective is for Singapore to be represented in all 26 sports at the Youth Olympics Games.
