SINGAPORE: A 10-year-old boy has won Channel NewsAsia's "Top 10 News of the Decade" contest.
Scott Favacho, who had some help from his parents, correctly picked six of the channel's top ten news events in the shortest time.
The 10-year-old beat over 1,000 other entrants to win Channel NewsAsia's "Top 10 News of the Decade" contest.
He received his prize of a two-night stay at the Ritz Carlton and a goody bag with Channel NewsAsia premiums from the channel's managing director, Debra Soon.
He said: "I want to invite all of my friends to the hotel and have a party there."
His father, Patrick Favacho, won a consolation prize, along with 19 other people.
The online contest is part of the channel's year-long celebrations to mark its 10th Anniversary.
The channel's top ten news events of the decade are:
1. September 11 terror attacks in US
2. Asian Tsunami kills more than 200,000 people across Asia
3. SARS ravages 32 countries & regions
4. Financial institutions worldwide collapse
5. Barrack Obama becomes first US African American President
