SINGAPORE: Over 100 students from around the world will be arriving in Singapore in the coming months to learn more about Singapore ahead of the inaugural Youth Olympic Games next year.

The first batch attended a workshop by Channel NewsAsia on Thursday to get a taste of being a television reporter.

18 cub reporters from countries like Finland and Nepal attended a one-day broadcast journalism workshop at MediaCorp.

It is part of a 10-day camp for the high school students initiated and sponsored by Singapore's Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts.

Despite the fun and games, competition will be stiff.

Out of the 100 or so who will attend such camps in all, only five will be picked to come back and report on the games. - CNA/vm
