SINGAPORE: Most Singaporeans are happy with the way the country is governed, with many confident that Singapore has a bright future ahead.
That's according to 1,558 Singaporeans polled in a survey commissioned by REACH, a government organisation that gathers public feedback and promotes active citizenry.
However, some remain concerned about the affordability of basic needs such as health care, transport and housing, while others were dissatisfied with employment policies relating to foreigners and older workers.
REACH has now set up a dedicated webpage at www.reach.gov.sg/ndrsg so the public will have quick access to all the available feedback channels to submit their feedback on this year's National Day Rally (NDR).
Riding on the wave of new media technology, REACH will employ more interactive elements for this year's National Day Rally feedback exercise, giving it a more engaging and "real time" experience.
To allow the public to have instant updates on the National Day Rally, REACH will upload updates on the various NDR themes onto REACH Singapore Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/REACHSingapore) and REACH Singapore Twitter (http://twitter.com/REACH_Singapore) even as the speech is being delivered.
REACH will also organise a Youth Forum to engage the youth on the issues raised in the Rally.
Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports Vivian Balakrishnan and REACH chairman Amy Khor will discuss National Day Rally issues with youths from various educational institutions.
Students can participate and share their views via REACH's Facebook, Twitter and SMS platforms during the on-going forum.
In addition to the above, REACH also welcomes views on the Prime Minister's National Day Rally speech through other existing feedback channels such as its website, email and fax.
