SINGAPORE: The government has accepted and will implement nine out of 16 public suggestions received on the draft Goods and Services Tax (GST) (Amendment) Bill.
These include GST suspension for goods temporarily removed from Zero-GST or Licensed Warehouses for auctions and exhibitions and extension of the current GST treatment for physical vouchers to all forms of vouchers including electronic vouchers.
The remaining seven suggestions were not accepted because they were inconsistent with the policy objectives of the tax changes.
The draft GST (Amendment) Bill 2009 contains proposed legislation to put into effect the tax changes announced in Budget 2009.
The Finance Ministry had held a public consultation exercise from June 3 to June 24 to gather feedback.
