Budget Package for the Young
Posted: 15 February 2007 2013 hrs

Post-Secondary Education Accounts (PSEA) will be opened for all Singapore citizen children aged from seven to 20 from next year to help families with the costs of post-secondary education.

Those in secondary school or older will receive $400 in 2008 and 2009. Those of primary school age will get less as they can get more PSEA top-ups in future years.

To help lower-income families with young children the Kindergarten Financial Assistance Scheme (KiFAS) will increase to 90% or a subsidy of about $80 a month while the Centre-Based Financial Assistance Scheme for ChildCare (CFAC) will be increased by between $20 and $40 a month for each child.
