YOG 2010 |
The Youth Olympics is a 12-day multi-sport, cultural and educational event.
There will be 3,500 athletes and 875 officials from all 205 National Olympic Committees associated with the YOG.
Workshops and forums are planned on issues such as nutrition, healthy lifestyle, the environment and the fight against doping, hosted by well-known Champions, International experts and world-class personalities from the worlds of education, culture and sport.
The Youth Olympics will be held every four years.
All sports venues must be located in the same city, with existing multi-sport venues being used.
The largest number of spectators expected at a venue: 3000
The smallest number of spectators expected at a venue: 500
Number of beds required at Games village : 5000
The Olympic symbol consists of 5 interlaced rings of equal dimensions and of different colours - blue, yellow, black, green and red.
The Olympic rings represent the union of the five continents and the meeting of athletes from throughout the world at the Olympic Games.
