SINGAPORE: Albirex Niigata (Singapore) closed out their S.League season on a winning note as they stormed past Balestier Khalsa 3-0 at Jurong East Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Atsushi Shimono opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, slamming a beautiful shot past Abdul Rasyid Hamid from outside the penalty area after leftback Sahairi Ramri had blocked Tetsuya Kishida's initial effort.

Kishida got himself onto the score sheet 11 minutes from the end, when he blindsided the Balestier defence to tap Taisuke Akiyoshi's dead-ball play home.

Demoralised by the goal after they had defended credibly in long spells, Balestier conceded a third goal minutes later as Ken Matsumoto converted a penalty after he was brought down by a panicked Jamie Alan Pitt. - S.League.com
