SINGAPORE : In Day 8 of action at the Youth Olympic Games, in the Boys' football semi-finals, Bolivia have beaten Montenegro 3-1 to advance to the gold medal match.
The South Americans went ahead after five minutes, but the boys from Montenegro equalised four minutes before the half-hour mark.
But Bolivia sealed their place in the final with two goals in the space of four minutes in the second half.
With the victory, favourites Bolivia now await the winner between Singapore and Haiti in the other semi-final.
Over in the Bishan Stadium, Argentinian Braian Toledowon clinched the Boys' Javelin gold, throwing a distance of 81.78 metres. American Devin Bogert won the silver when a personal best of 76.88 metres catapulted him from second last position. Latvia got the bronze.
In the Girls' Shot Put final, Russian Natalia Troneva won the gold after throwing a personal best 16.66 metres. The silver medal went to China's Gu Siyu, who managed 15.49 metres. Poland's Anna Wloka was just a centimetre behind and bagged the bronze.
In Artistic Gymnastics, China's Tan Sixin grabbed the gold in the Girls' Beam finals with a total of 15.550 points.
Carlotta Ferlito of Italy got the silver with 14.825 points and Australia's Angela Donald received the bronze.
In the Boys' Vault final, Mongolia's Erdenebold Ganbat clinched the gold after scoring 15.662 points.
The silver went to Ferhat African of Turkey and Nestor Abad of Spain got the bronze.
Switching to Judo and the Girls' under-52kg final, USA's Katelyn Bouyssou beat Anna Dmitrieva of Russia to take gold. The bronze medals went to Austria's Christine Huck and Ju Ri Un of the People's Republic of Korea.
In the Boys' Under-81kg final, South Korea's Lee Jae Hyung got the gold after beating Russia's Khasan Khalmurzaev, who took the silver. Krisztian Toth of Hungary and Arpad Szakacs of Slovakia both received bronze.
And in the Girls' Under-63kg final, Miku Tashiro of Japan beat Flavia Gomes of Brazil to take home the gold.
Croatia's Barbara Matic and Lithuania's Laura Naginskaite both got bronze.
In cycling, Colombia has won the gold medal in the combined mixed team event, after a lowest combined total of 154 points.
Italy took silver with 171 points, while The Netherlands claimed the bronze. - CNA/ms
