Singapore: The quarterfinals of the Table Tennis Mixed Team event late Wednesday will see Singapore's Isabelle Li and Clarence Chew in action.
In the morning's 2nd round Group stage event, the duo overcame the pairing of Olga Bliznet and Konrad Kulpa representing the Europe-4 team with a 2-nil score.
Going one-on-one, Isabelle beat Olga 3-nil, while Clarence triumphed by 3 games to 1.
In sailing, medal hopes for Singapore's Darren Choy appear lean in the Boys Byte C2 competition.
The 16-year-old went from lead to 6th position after Tuesday's three races, trailing Ian Barrows of the US Virgin Islands by 25 points.
In order for Singapore's two-time world youth champion to still secure a gold medal, Darren must win the final race Wednesday and hope for Burrows to finish 27th out of the 29 competitors.
The silver and bronze medals are also unlikely for Darren due to his current 6th position.
Back from a drubbing on Sunday from underdogs Haiti, the Singapore Cubs will attempt to make amends for their exit from the soccer semi-final, when they face Montenegro for a bronze medal play-off.
The game at the Jalan Besar Stadium, which will be shown Live at 6pm on Channel 5, is a rematch of the Group qualifying stage match which saw Singapore take down the Europeans scored 3-2.
The under-15 boys who went from that match to meet Haiti, crashed out to set up another rematch between Bolivia and Haiti.
Favourites Bolivia who thrashed the Haitians 9-nil in the group stage will go for the gold-medal clash at 8.45pm.
Another final being played in the evening is Boys' Hockey, with a gold medal contest between Australia and Pakistan.
Singapore will face Chile to avoid finishing at the bottom of 6 teams, in the match at the Sengkang Hockey Stadium.
