Feng defeated world number two Guo Yue from China 4-1 in the quarter-finals, winning the match 11-9, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9. Feng will play Hong Kong's Tie Yana in the semi-finals on Monday.

In another quarter-final match, Wang beat US paddler Gao Jun 4-2. Wang won the match 11-5, 8-11, 11-3, 11-13, 15-13, 11-7.

Wang will face China's Li Xiaoxia in the semi-finals.

There was disappointment on Saturday when Wang's third-seed compatriot Li Jiawei bowed out of competition when she suffered two straight defeats to Gao and Hong Kong's Tie in her Group C qualifier. - CNA/de
