KUALA LUMPUR: Singapore paddler Feng Tianwei beat fellow teammate Wang Yuegu to claim bronze in the Women World Cup Table Tennis held in Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Wang went down in just four games - 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 and 11-8 - in the playoff against Feng for third spot.

On Sunday, both Singaporean paddlers made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Kuala Lumpur. But they both crashed out in the fight for finals.

21-year-old Feng was a silver medallist in the team event at the Beijing Olympics, and had earlier beaten top seed and World 2, Guo Yue of China, in the quarters.

But she was no match against Hong Kong's Tie Yana in the semis. Feng lost 11-6, 13-11, 11-8 and 11-7.

28-year-old Wang was also defeated in four games by China's Li Xiaoxia 13-11, 11-2, 11-7 and 11-9.
