SINGAPORE: Telco StarHub said it has concluded tests which could provide mobile broadband download speeds of up to 42.2 megabits per second.

This is about twice the current download speeds commercially-available.

StarHub had been working with its technology partner Huawei on an HSPA+ network using Dual Carrier frequency technology.

The telco said an upgrade of its HSPA+ network is now being implemented progressively to further enhance the overall efficiency of the network.

StarHub has also commenced technical trials for the next generation mobile broadband standard. - CNA/vm
